Emily Manktelow - Coach
Emily started diving at the age of seven at the Royal Tunbridge Wells Monson club after giving up gymnastics. She dived in her first national competition at the age of nine. In 1996, she became national champion on 1m, 3m and highboard. This led to her being selected for the junior international competition in Walkraiburg, Germany on 1m and highboard, where she was placed 9th and 12th respectively. Her efforts saw her rewarded with the title ASA Junior Diver of the Year.
Since then, diving took a back seat to A levels and university. During this time, Emily earned her level 1 and 2 ASA diving teachers qualifications. She did not dive during her undergraduate years at Cambridge (taking up trampolining instead) but returned to the sport in 2004 when she came back to Cambridge to start her PhD in virology.
Emily is part of the Masters squad and teaches Learn to Dive classes on Friday evenings.
