Like any organisation, the Cambridge Diving Development Centre needs funds to operate and expand. Your fees cover the day to day running costs of the centre, such as pool hire and paying our excellent coaches. The committee also work hard behind the scenes to bring in extra money from grants and sponsorship to spend on equipment, subsiding or chaperoning trips to competitions and so forth.
We strive to make the diving club as good as it can be, and the healthier the coffers the more we can offer. To try to further enrich the experiences of all members of the club (and all members of our Learn to Dive programmes), our wonderful fundraising officer Theresa Curtis has come up with all sorts of schemes you, the club members, can join in with.
You can find on this page:
easyfundraising.org.uk provide two ways to raise money for the club without costing you anything.
If you already shop online with retailers such as Amazon, M&S, Argos, John Lewis, Comet, Vodafone, eBay, Boden and Play.com, then we need you to sign up for free to raise money while you shop.
To take advantage of this system, you need to sign up for free at http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/cambridgediveteam. Once signed up, use the links on the easyfundraising site to take you to the retailer. That is it! A percentage of whatever you spend comes directly to the diving club at no extra cost to yourself. It does not stop you using any other offer with the retailer you are shopping from.
Spend £100 with M&S online or Amazon and you raise £2.50 for us; £100 with WH Smith puts £2.00 in our pocket, and so on. There's over 2,000 retailers on their site, and some of the donations can be as much as 15% of your purchase.
Easyfundraising is FREE to use plus you'll get access to hundreds of exclusive discounts and voucher codes, so not only will you be helping us, you'll be saving money yourself.

The 100 Club
The Cambridge Dive Team 100 Club is a private lottery and is open to all parents and friends of CDT. You do not even have to be a registered member of CDT, but must be aged 16 or over to join.
Each month there is a draw for 50% of the fund. This amount is paid to one winner per calendar month. The remaining half of the fund goes to helping the club.
For example, let's say that we have 100 members paying £1 each in a given month: that makes a total fund of £100 in that month. A sole winner will be drawn from the people who have paid into the fund for that month, who will receive half of the fund as their winnings (£50). The remaining £50 is donated to the club.
You can purchase as many stakes in the draw per month as you wish. Each stake increases your chance of winning. Payments will be made monthly to the winner.
If you would like to be part of the 100 Club, please contact Theresa at . Payments can be made by cash or cheque.
Smartie Tube Challenge
We would love all squad members and Learn To Dive divers to take part in the Smartie Tube Challenge over the June half term holiday!
It's very simple. All it involves is filling a Smartie tube with £1 coins.
The fun part of this challenge is that we want you all to come up with ingenious ways of raising the £1 coins that are going to fill your Smartie tube. For instance, how about helping around the house: making cups of tea, doing the washing up or keeping your room tidy or maybe, helping with the gardening? Or you could:
- Make up a show or gym display and charge people to watch;
- Have a car boot sale;
- Make cakes and sell them;
It's entirely up to you - so get thinking!
Don't forget to tell us how you completed your challenge and send a picture of yourself in action to Theresa at and we will upload it to the CDT website, Facebook and Twitter pages. You may even make it into an edition of "Dive Dive Dive!". Everyone that takes part will receive a personalised certificate stating the amount they have raised.
