Cambridge Dive Centre welcomes Amy Renton and Sam Buck
Cambridge Dive Centre has appointed two Assistant Diving Development Officers who will help with the ever-expanding Learn to Dive and Competitive Diving programmes. Both will bring their own particular expertise to the Centre. We look forward to having them on board.
Amy Renton (graduate of Cambridge University) has lived in Cambridge both during her time at university and since. She has been a member of the Dive Centre for some years as a participant in the masters section, as a teacher on the Learn to Dive lessons and as a coach in club sessions. As an elite diver who competed nationally she has good knowledge of all aspects of diving. Amy will take the lead part in the Learn to Dive Programme as well as being a top coach in club sessions.
Sam Buck has just completed a Sports Science degree at Loughborough University. His final year biomechanics project investigating the mechanics of double twisting somersaults will be very valuable to him and the divers. Sam is an elite gymnast having competed internationally at all levels. He also has extensive gym teaching and coaching qualifications both at Huntingdon Gym Club and with the university team. Sam will take the lead part in the Dry Land Training programme as well as being a top coach in club sessions.
Head Coach and Diving Development Officer, James Etherington, who during his three years with the Centre has orchestrated its expansion and success, welcomes Amy and Sam's appointment.
