Cambridge Diving Welcomes Samir Rerizani
Samir Rerizani has returned to the sport of diving in which he featured so highly as an elite competitor as a teenager. He returns as an Assistant Diving Development Officer / Coach with the Cambridge Diving Development Centre.
24 year old Samir, who lives in Cambridge, was a star diver for the club winning numerous club, county and regional titles. The highlight of his diving career was a silver medal in the British Championships and consequent appointment with his coach, Sharyn Bord, to the Great Britain Diving Team. Samir, who coached young divers in the latter years of his time with the club, showed he had the potential to move into this field professionally. The Cambridge Club is delighted to have Samir join the staff. He has a very busy time ahead of him as he will be co-ordinating the Learn to Dive Programme and coaching all levels of competition divers. The Cambridge Dive Team, the competitive arm of the Dive Centre, is going from strength to strength and now recognised as one of the country's leading 5 metre centres of excellence. Samir will assist in driving it to even greater things. In his occasional free moments Samir hopes to get back on the boards and hone his skills and perhaps enter some Masters events.
