National Age Groups 2010

The Cambridge Dive Team took a team of four divers to the ASA National Age Groups 2010 competition held at Southampton.

Rosy-May Trewin-Marshall and Emma Watson dived in the girls Group C event - a very large group of over thirty divers. Rosy-May scored a good 18tth place in the 3m event and an excellent 11th place on 1m including an inward dive scoring 7 to continue her improvement in the rankings. Emma scored 16th on 3m, 7th on platform and just missed out on a medal with a terrific 4th place on 1m reminding everybody of how good she can be.

Sebastian Jaunzens now dives in boys group B and despite being a younger diver and still completing his recovery from injury was perhaps the most consistent of all divers in his group. He performed elegant and rarely seen straight dives from 1m and 3m finishing in 5th and 4th positions. On the platform he included a back one and a half scoring 7.5s in a varied program which took the silver medal on 217.85 points.

Vivien Cliff dived in girls group A in what will be her last competition for the Cambridge Dive Team. She put together consistently good dives to score 5th on 1m, 5th on 3m and 4th in the synchro competition with Louise Doodson of Leeds Diving. But she saved her best for the platform competition with most dives coming off 7.5 - higher than the Cambridge high board. With consistently good dives throughout she broke her personal best to take the gold medal with 233.20 points.

Cambridge Dive Team head coaches Sam Buck and Marc Holdsworth were pleased with all the Cambridge divers. Marc said "Everybody dived well but we are especially pleased for Vivien to finish in such style".
