CDT adult divers bring home medals at the Great British Diving Federation Winter Masters

Cambridge Dive Team masters divers, Eve Coomber and Carolyn Haith sprung to medal positions at the recent national masters even in Manchester.

Manchester Aquatics Centre recently held the 2021 Winter Masters Event in which divers from all over the UK and Europe compete for their clubs. The meet was the first in over two years, lasting two days with a variety of events spanning both springboard and platform.

Cambridge Dive Team took two members to the event, Eve Coomber and Carolyn Haith, both divers securing podium positions. Coomber competed on all three boards, achieving one gold and two silver medals in the women’s events. Haith showcased her skills in the platform and three meter events, securing two bronze medals. Both divers performed some great dives and impressed the judges with their entries into the water. Congratulations to both Eve and Carolyn who took part, a testament to the hard work put in over the previous months.

The next masters’ event is scheduled for March in Southend, open to all levels of divers, new and experienced.  If you are interested in adult learn to dive sessions please do not hesitate to get in contact with Cambridge Diving Development Centre through our contact form on this website!

Moving up to platform Hallie made it a hat-trick of gold medals making her the overall junior female winner. The fight was on for the senior female title with the 5m to be the decider. Tobi scored really well but Sophia rose to the challenge with some amazing rip entries rewarded by the judges, giving her the gold medal and the overall senior female county title.

Finishing the evening the senior open event was another highlight with excellent diving and again featuring the same 3 divers for the medals. However, it was the turn of Charles to impress with his complex dives and precision entries to take gold, whilst achieving a new county platform record. Finn was close behind in silver and Rufus completed his competition with a final bronze. Despite Charles’ win here it was Finn who had the highest overall score to take the senior open county title.

The County President, Ian Liversedge, was there to enjoy the evening and present medals and trophies.
