Level X Games Dryland Series 2

Cambridge Dive Team recently took part in the second series of the Level X Dryland Games; an ‘online’ competition event where divers submitted videos demonstrating strength and flexibility sequences. This series routines focused on back and reverse skills and 10 CDT divers practiced their drills before sending into Swim England. Following the success of series 1, over 200 divers from across the country took part in this second series.

The first event to be judged was the 8-10 years of age group and for many athletes this was their first taste of a (virtual) competition. From CDT, Florence Tibbatts placed 16th in the female category while Ryan Church placed 5th in the male category, a great result for his very first competition.

The next event to follow follow was the 11-13 age group, where CDT had four entrants in the female category. Eva Tsang and Yuzu Baxendale were both first-time competitors placing 43rd and 34th respectively while Zia Gordon placed 16th only three points away from the top 10. Amelia Aldridge demonstrated some great control in her skills and placed 9th in the event with an impressive score of 92 points.  In the boys 11-13 event, CDT made their mark with both competitors placing in the top 10, teammates Charlie Tibbatts and Rufus Bord finishing 10th and 7th respectively.

The final event of the series was the 14-17 age group, with CDT’s Rhiannon Monie and Daisy Halls showcasing their skills. Monie placed 23rd in a tough event while team mate Halls, and previous Series 1 winner, managed to outclass all of her opponents and once again place in first, taking home the gold.

Level X will introduce pool events in the coming months as restrictions are eased and CDT divers are excited to get back into the pool setting for competitions.

A big well done to all our divers for their continued hard work throughout this unprecedented season!
